Happy Friday!
Here is a look at one of the activities we did this week: Reader's Theater!
Learning Intentions:
- Engage in dialogue to express and understand messages.
- Contribute respectfully to a variety of interactions that involve listening and speaking.
- Identify where phrasing and pausing can support understanding or create effects.
- Select appropriate volume, intonation, phrasing, and pausing to create a desired effect when speaking or presenting.
- Adjust verbal and non-verbal language to enhance clarity or create effects when communicating.
Students were given a group and a play script and are given time each day to practice reading and creating a play where students take on the voice and body language of the character they are in the play. We remind students to focus on accuracy of reading correctly, volume, speed and expression. Ask your child what play they are doing and what their role is! Students are excited for this opportunity and we welcome props if you can help them find things they might want to use in their play.
Reminders:
- Last Alien Inline session is on Monday, January 27th. Students can bring their own helments and remind them to dress comfortably for this activity.
- Our first set of Report Cards go live on Monday, January 27th. Please log in to your PowerSchool account to view the Report Cards.
