Here is one of the activities we have been working on this week: Poetry!
Learning Interntions:
- Investigate words or phrases applied creatively in poetry.
- Examine poetic structures that contribute to creative expression of ideas.
- Experiment with creating haikus and limericks.
- Investigate figurative language used in imaginative ways.
- Experiment with creating verse, free verse, or concrete poetry.
We hav learned about figurative language devices such as similes, metaphors, hyperboles and personification. Students were given time to create their own and two read and highlight examples of each in various passages. We have also learned about and written our own haikus and acrostic poems. More poem types to come!

- Our Social Studies and Science Tests and reflection sheets went home today!
